We
live in Alaska year-round. All of our staff have visited all the
port towns along Alaska's famous Inside Passage. While we are
a local, hometown company, our membership in the national organization,
Vacation.com,
gives us many of the advantages of larger agencies. Advantages
like special rates, upgrades and discounts. We're members of CLIA
(Cruise Lines International Association) and have a CTC (Certified
Travel Counselor), ACC (Accredited Cruise Counselor) on staff.
We have been in business since 1983, in the small port town of
Wrangell, Alaska. Agency owners/operators have over 40 years combined
experience in the travel industry.
Though we have a passion for small cruise ship
and yacht style cruising, we have been on most of the large ships
too and will match a cruise based on your desires. For a full
experience, add a post-cruise land tour to create the perfect
Alaskan vacation! There are dozens of tour options offered by
various cruise lines or, create your own pre or post cruise tour!
With your desires in mind, we will design a custom itinerary to
fit your style through our Alaska
Vacations land division of our parent company Tyee Travel,
Inc.
Small-ship
cruising offers the opportunity to see Alaska close-up. The
schedules are generally more flexible, which enable them to slow
down to watch wildlife longer. A pod of killer whales or porpoise
can entertain and fascinate viewers for hours. The smaller size
of the vessels lets them cruise into passages and bays not accessible
to large ships. A casual atmosphere guides the active and intimate
experience in small-ship cruising, and many of these ships offer
kayaking, adventures ashore and beach combing. The large
ships may be known for gourmet food, but the fare on smaller
ships has received rave reviews; some even publish cookbooks with
recipes that have been requested through the years.
