Best of the Inside Passage - Glacier Bay, Juneau and Wrangell
This 8 day tour begins with your arrival in Gustavus, home of Glacier Bay, the Glacier Bay day cruise, Juneau with Whale Watching, Wrangell with Stikine River jet boat adventure and either LeConte Glacier jet boat day trip or bear viewing (in season).
Day 1 - And you are off to Gustavus, home of Glacier Bay! Upon arrival, the Inn will meet you and transfer you to the Inn where you have a comfortable cabin with queen bed and either twin or double bed. All meals and transfers are included while in Gustavus.
Day 2 – Early morning for the full day Baranof Wind Glacier Bay cruise departing at 7am with return at 4pm. The Inn will transfer you and if you ask, they will also pack you a lunch. They will meet you upon return.
Day 3 – Almost full day at leisure in Gustavus. You will need to check out of the cabin and store your luggage mid day. Inn will transfer you to the Gustavus airport for your evening Alaska Airlines flight to Juneau. In Juneau, pick up your car. 2 nights at hotel or B&B.
Day 4 – Whale watching today at 9:30am. Trip is approx. 3.5 hours long with about ½ hour each direction transfer from the office. Snacks on board are complimentary and there is a naturalist on board as well! Have fun!
Day 5 – Morning free in Juneau. Afternoon jet flight to Wrangell with stop in Petersburg. Arrives Wrangell where the Bed and Breakfast will be waiting upon your arrival. 3 nights with awesome breakfast!
Day 6 – Another day of adventure! Stikine River adventure! Again, pack some snacks and if you want to visit the natural hot springs tubs, bring a suit for a soak in the natural hot springs!
Day 7 – LeConte Glacier trip by jet boat. Get a sack lunch at the deli at the grocery store to take with you on this all day excursion! LeConte Glacier is the southern most tidewater glacier in North America! Noted for it’s ice berg laden bay, this makes for great photos! Alternative for Day 7 if travel is between July and August - Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory trip. This is a 5-7 hour excursion however so you will want to take something with you and depending on the time of the trip, eat a hearty breakfast! Anan Creek is about 30 miles south of the town of Wrangell. Travel down scenic Eastern Passage (locally known as the Back Channel) to the creek head and your guide will take you up the rustic trail to the Anan Creek overlook where you’ll enjoy the antics of both brown and black bear as they come to the creek to fish and feast on spawning salmon. Anan is a seasonal activity.
Day 8 – This is it! The close of your Alaska adventure! Your tour ends with a transfer to the Wrangell Airport.
(Single, triple and Quad available. Put in the total number of people to occupy each room. Pricing is based on 2 people per room. Occupancy of 1, 3 or 4 people per room is priced differently and a quote will be returned to you for your approval before booked. Multiple rooms need to be booked separately. Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis and not considered confirmed until a confirmation email is returned within 2 business days. Transportation within Alaska is included but airfare to/from Alaska is not included.
The above tour is not date specific so you can choose your own start date. Please specify preferred starting date in “comments” when adding to your shopping cart.
